An Exercise Physiologist is a university-qualified allied health professional accredited under Exercise & Sport Science Australia (ESSA). They specialize in using exercise to support individuals with chronic health conditions, injuries, disabilities, or those looking to improve their well-being.
Exercise Physiology can assist with a wide range of needs, including weight management, pain management, falls prevention, strength and conditioning, skills development and mobility.
Whether the goal is to restore function after an injury, enhance mobility for greater independence, or build strength for everyday tasks, Exercise Physiologist programs are designed to be safe, effective, and adaptable to each person’s needs.
At Warup Wellness, I support individuals with injuries or disabilities, helping them restore or enhance their physical capacity and function. My focus is on empowering individuals to navigate daily activities more easily by addressing movement challenges, improving physical resilience, and fostering long term well-being.
I am passionate about working with children and teens, particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and/or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). I specialize in supporting individuals who may be experiencing difficulties with low physical capacity that may impact activities of daily living, including muscle tone, endurance, coordination, balance, and mobility.
My sessions focus on play-based activities that support development through movement challenges. These activities include problem-solving, memory recall, and dynamic exercises that encourage strategic thinking.
In addition to physical development, my sessions actively support emotional regulation through utilizing strategies such as grounding techniques, proprioceptive feedback using equipment, and breathing exercises. These methods help improve self-regulation, focus, and overall well-being, creating a holistic approach to movement and overall development.
I provide one-on-one training for individuals with disabilities, offering personalized support tailored to their needs that includes:
A comprehensive assessment to identify challenges that may affect independence and overall functional capacity.
Development of a treatment plan that considers the client's goals, needs and performance from assessment.
Regular 1-hour individualized exercise physiology sessions focused on achieving their goals and enhancing overall capacity.
Detailed NDIS reports that outline progress, behavioral observations, and provide recommendations.
Involvement in stakeholder meetings to ensure collaboration and updates on the client’s care plan.
Warup Wellness services can be funded by schools and provided on school grounds. This service consists of individual functional assessment with students and intervention that consist of small groups of 2 - 3 students are engaged in exercise targeting their challenges. This intervention aims to improve functional capacity while also supporting emotional regulation.
Meetings are held with Teachers and Parents to discuss the student's challenges in the classroom, at home, and in the community. Any concerns regarding their capacity are made and a plan of action is discussed with Parents and Teachers.
At the end of each semester a report is developed that outlines the student's progression, current difficulties, and recommendations.
